Come enjoy great cuisine and the fabulous atmosphere at many of the USVI Hotel & Tourism Association's Member restaurants. St. Thomas Spice is a promotion from our member restaurants offering 3 fabulous courses for only $39.00 (does not include gratuity/service charges). $3.00 of the meal price will be donated to the USVI Culinary Team. The proceeds fund the transportation, accommodations, registration and expenses for the team to compete at the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association's annual Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Competition. The 2010 event will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in May.

The USVI Hotel & Tourism Association is developing a Membership Card program as a means of recruiting new members and enhancing the benefits of membership. The purpose of the card is to provide special benefits, recognition and discounts to our members.

The card will be specifically designed for this program and will be distributed along with a promotional flyer outlining the offers and their restrictions. Each business will receive at least two (2) complimentary cards and may purchase additional cards at $5 each.

This is a great opportunity to generate a new customer base for your business. We know that the membership card will provide added value to everyone within the membership. We encourage you to participate in this program.

Tommy Starfish is the mascot of the U.S.V.I. HTA. Tommy arrived "on island" on the Seaplane in November of 2002, and as the public face of the HTA fills many different duties for the HTA.

The annual Tommy Star Awards recognize hospitality employees for excellence and dedication. This is a major black tie event and that gives the HTA and it's members a chance to highlight and showcase the work of their staffs throughout the tourism industry.

There is also the Tommy Goes to School Newsletter (PDF), which is distributed in schools throughout the territory with the goal of disseminating relevant information about the tourism industry to the children of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and interest them in tourism careers.

And he appears on the color-coded road signs that help tourists find their way from the airport to major points of interest around the island and back. Keep and eye out for Tommy while you are here!
