flyer-draftThe Humane Society of St. Thomas is pleased to announce the “Bells for Angel Wings” tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 11 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to raise funds and awareness for shelter animals. All proceeds go to the nonprofit Humane Society of St. Thomas, which will stay in the St. Thomas community to benefit animals in need.

According to Rhea Vasconcellos, shelter manager, “The event will be something for the whole family to enjoy, and we hope to raise funds to help animals in our community that need forever homes.”

The public is invited to the free event that will take place at the St. Thomas Humane Society campus. Attendees and well-wishers are invited to make a $10 donation to receive a “Bells for Angel Wings” on the tree, in memory or in honor of their loved pet(s). All those being honored or memorialized will be listed on the Humane Society Facebook page after the event.

Cookies and beverages will be served as a festive bell choir provides entertainment and holiday cheer. Donations can be made before the event at your preferred pet store, groomer, veterinarian and the Humane Society.

Since 1957, the Humane Society of St. Thomas has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect, and working to create an environment of respect, responsibility and compassion for all animals throughout the territory. The functional and new campus sits on 4.7 acres and consists of five major buildings. It is an open admission shelter, meaning that its doors are always open for any animal that they can legally accept. The Humane Society of St. Thomas is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

The Humane Society of St. Thomas is the only animal shelter serving the residents of St. Thomas, and, other than a small contract with the government of the Virgin Islands, is dependent entirely upon donations and the good will of the community.

Participate in this great opportunity to renew your annual membership or purchase one as a holiday gift for someone else. There are lots of wonderful holiday gift ideas in the No Flea Boutique.
