US Virgin Islands Hotel & Tourism Association

Sir Royston O. Hopkin, KCMG, was announced as keynote speaker for the 2017 Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF). Hopkin is a dedicated philanthropist and owner of the award-winning Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada. He has had an extensive and distinguished career spanning more than 48 years of contributions to his home island of Grenada and the Caribbean region.

CHIEF will be held June 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency in Miami, Florida. The forum will take place in conjunction with the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Taste of the Caribbean competition occurring June 2-6.

CHIEF’s general sessions and three educational tracks cover a variety of vital topics to the Caribbean hospitality industry, including: effectively incorporating data driven marketing strategies; the importance of Hospitality Assured accreditation; the upside of upselling through technology and training; and how to manage key costs in the most expensive region in the world. Taste of the Caribbean, the region’s premier culinary competition and cultural showcase, also provides a forum for gathering practical information, developing skills, sampling, purchasing, strengthening supplier relationships and meeting new vendors. One goal of the popular event is to help attendees build food and beverage business and yield bottom line benefits.

We at USVIHTA are excited for both of these events and the amazing opportunities available to attendees. Please visit the CHTA CHIEF site to register for CHIEF, learn about sponsorship opportunities and to sign up for e-mail updates. Click here to learn more about the Taste of the Caribbean.
