It’s time for CHIEF! We are so thrilled to attend this event and we’re using every last minute to prepare by noting sessions we want to attend and speakers we can’t wait to hear from. Read the message below from CHTA President Emil Lee to learn more about CHIEF. Feel free to contact us at the USVIHTA office at 340-774-6835 if you have any questions. See you this weekend in Puerto Rico!
Message from CHTA President Emil Lee: Our upcoming new industry event called CHIEF, the Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum, will take place from Oct. 2-4 at the El Conquistador Resort, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Puerto Rico. Designed to help you improve your overall profitability by increasing revenues, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and improving overall efficiency, there has been nothing like CHIEF in the Caribbean for the past two decades.
CHIEF was born out of listening to the wishes of our hotel and allied members to have a conference that brings the best and brightest people in Caribbean tourism together to share knowledge in a fun setting. We are excited that the event is working as planned to bring together our industry.
CHIEF has ignited a renewed enthusiasm among our membership. Hoteliers are viewing this as an opportunity to network with industry colleagues and learn about best practices that both small and large hotels are using to become more successful. It also provides our allied membership the opportunity to renew and strengthen their relationships with the hoteliers and showcase their expertise and products at the trade show segment.
We encourage you to actively participate and share your lessons learned, both success stories and failures, because we believe that by sharing our collective experiences our industry can reach new levels of quality and success.
Besides being able to network and learn from many of your colleagues who are already registered, we have gathered many of the best experts on the hospitality business in the Caribbean. At CHIEF you will hear from world-class speakers, including Nathan Lump, Editor-in-Chief of Travel and Leisure Magazine, Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals Resorts, Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace principal partner of the Bedford Group, Gonzalo del Peon from AMResorts and Brian Payea of TripAdvisor. Come to CHIEF:
- If your operation has room for improvements in revenue generation and you want to earn more money
- If your organization has room for improved efficiency and can improve the quality of service
- If listening to the lessons learned by your colleagues could help your business to become more profitable
- If you have experiences and knowledge that would be beneficial for others to hear
Prior to CHIEF, on Oct. 2, we have organized two high-demand professional development workshops at less than half their usual rate to help you get the most out of your data and your people. The “Certified Hospitality Industry Analytics” course is offered by the American Hotel and Lodging Association Education Institute along with STR and the “Leadership for Service Excellence” course is provided by Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
As a fellow hotelier, I urge you, along with key members of your staff, to be a part of this evolutionary process. I look forward to seeing you in Puerto Rico. To register and also to find additional information about speakers, sessions and discounts, please click here.
