logo_cshaeThe Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executives held its Annual General Meeting and Leadership Conference prior to the opening of Caribbean Travel Marketplace. Association executives from 14 hotel associations participated in the AGM and Leadership training including professionals from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Curacao, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Trinidad, and Turks and Caicos.

During the course of the AGM meeting, the executives discussed the development of programming the overall CSHAE/CHTA work plan in conjunction with CHTA business plan, to make sure the role of each destination’s association contributes in the success of the region’s tourism industry and the importance of developing a strong partnership with the local tourist boards. The association executives discussed issues and concerns facing each country including local government challenges, how on-island marketing funds are used or developed, air lift, and excessive taxation. The executives also discussed the best practices to bring about the changes needed within the topics discussed.

The Leadership Conference ASAE training, sponsored by ARDA-ROC, CSHAE and CHTA, featured ASAE professional development sessions by Adriana Serna, ASAE Facilitator, and CHTA’s Communication Manager. For more information, click here
