CSHAE met prior to CHIEF to discuss updates and continuing education. We are continuing the ASAE Certification Course, an executive course which helps build and renew a basic understanding for running an association. In order for association executives to receive a completion certification, they must complete five courses. We began the course last Jan. with 15 associations, and in Oct., we had nine rejoin in Puerto Rico for the Membership Training Program. Members also discussed some points during the training that need to be further developed and addressed. These include: a mentorship program for association executives; membership databases; how to better leverage the student/faculty membership; looking at the virtual/electronic membership as an add-on to membership; and social media training for association executives.
