Domestic ferry operations at the Waterfront on St. Thomas were moved to the secured area of the Edward Blyden IV Marine Terminal on Aug. 15, announced Virgin Islands Port Authority Executive Director David Mapp.

Transportation Services of St. John, Inc. and Varlack Ventures which provide inter-island service to and from St. John, and the QE IV which travels to and from St. Croix, were relocated from the open area on the eastern end of the Waterfront bulkhead to the gated area near the Blyden Terminal (adjacent to the fruit stand). Boarding and disembarking will take place at the most eastern gate in the secured area on the bulkhead. Taxis will also be staged nearby.

“The move is being implemented to improve customer service and the traveler’s experience at the Waterfront,” Mapp said. Passengers waiting to travel to St. John or St. Croix will have access to the nearby restaurant and restrooms in the Blyden Terminal, he added.
