Virgin Islands National Park Announces Temporary Partial Closure of John Head Road
ST. JOHN, U.S. Virgin Islands— A portion of the John Head Road on St. John will be closed to the public for approximately five days beginning August 26, 2024. The section of road immediately in front the driveway of the Hakuna Ma Tata residence will be demolished and rebuilt half of the roadway/driveway at a time.
This project will involve the use of heavy equipment and will require concrete curing thus necessitating the closure of half of the roadway to vehicular and foot traffic. The project will begin on August 26 and end on August 30, 2024, weather permitting.
