DOT Participates in Caribbean Week 2015

The USVI Department of Tourism participated in the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s annual Caribbean Week in New York City, June 1-5. DOT representatives, including U.S. Virgin Islands Culinary Ambassador Chef Digby Stridiron, showcased the territory’s travel offerings and iconic cuisine to thousands of New Yorkers during the week-long celebration. Kicking off the week, Chef Digby was featured in a live three minute segment on Fox 5’s Good Day New York. As the highest rated local morning news program, the segment was watched by 126,407 New Yorkers and generated $97,428 in media value.

The delegation also attended the Caribbean Media Marketplace, where representatives had the opportunity to discuss what is new in the Virgin Islands with a large portion of the nearly 150 media attendees.
