Terri Brown BOD Spotlight

Armed with dual degrees in marketing and visual communications, board member Terri Brown has utilized both in her lifelong career spanning publishing, international media sales, creative direction, marketing strategy, public relations and business management. Terri and business partner Beth Mock LeBlanc started MLB Creative in the USVI in 1997, opening a second office in Florida in 2000. MLB Creative is recognized for leading edge digital work.

As an active force in the advertising industry, Brown’s strategic intuitiveness, creativity and relationship building skills have established MLB Creative as a leading and trendsetting women-owned business in Florida and the Caribbean. Terri is proud to have mentored numerous interns and young entrepreneurs towards successful and growing careers in marketing and advertising.

“I believe we are a very enterprising island of people,” Brown said. “We should not only watch and learn from other destinations, but be creative in expanding and inventing new visitor experiences that we can enjoy ourselves.”

In addition to MLB Creative, Brown founded the Caribbean Advertising Federation and continues to be involved as administrator for the organization, and also serves on the board of several organizations. She presents as many events throughout the year for professional and student groups on topics including marketing, advertising, branding and social media. Her latest venture is serving as CEO of Frenchtown Brewing Company, the Virgin Islands’ first nano brewery opening May 2015. Brown was recently elected to the USVIHTA Board of Directors.

“My role on the board is to add my voice to the proven leadership panel now existing on the board. My goals are the goals of the organization, and to provide the best possible leadership to increase, sharpen and enrich a visitor experience and elevate the service and financial performance of our territory and our members,” she said.
