US Virgin Islands Hotel & Tourism Association
Bernd Kuhlen, general manager of the Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas and member of the USVIHTA board of directors, will be leaving the U.S. Virgin Islands in June to manage the Ritz-Carlton, Moscow. The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas has thrived under Kuhlen’s leadership, and we have enjoyed celebrating the team’s accomplishments. Additionally, the hotel generously allows the USVI Culinary Team the use of its kitchen for practices, and they continuously provide talented individuals to lead the team.
Furthermore, Kuhlen has served on the USVIHTA board for five years and has been an incredible asset and valued corporate partner. We are excited for this amazing opportunity for him and his family. We wish them the best in their new home!
“The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas will always hold a special place in my heart. Over the past five years, I’ve truly fallen in love with the resort, the island and most importantly, the people of the Virgin Islands. I’m so proud of our successes and that we won ‘Hotel of the Year.’ But to me, the biggest award is the tremendous respect that has grown for the Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas, which I can feel speaking to guests and industry colleagues. Though I’m moving on, I’ll never forget the people I met here and the work we did together to make our resort so successful,” Kuhlen said.
